What to expect during your 6-week wheel-throwing class!
Whether you are a first time potter or an experienced artist, we invite you to come take a class with us at Earthborn! While each instructor has their own tips and tricks, all classes start with the basics of how to throw a cylinder.

Weeks 1-4 are your “wet weeks”, where you are actively throwing and honing your skills.
Week 5 is trimming, adding handles, and finishing your pieces to go for their first firing.
Week 6 is glazing your pieces so they can be fired a second time.
Once the 6-week class is completed, check back about a week or so later and your pieces should be out of the kiln and ready to be taken home!

*Limited Availability in Classes
*All classes are subject to change and dates moved accordingly
*Any outside clay is subject to a firing fee.

NOTE: During the June 1 - July 10th session, the classes will take a break on July 4th and have their final class the following week.

Classes currently run on a 6 week schedule (4 week for October 26 - November 20th 2026). The cost is $275 ($167 for the 4 week class in November); including instruction once a week on your class day, your first 25 lbs of clay, glazing & firing. Studio time is during business hours and Saturdays 9-2 pm.

Each student receives their own desired shelf for storage as well.

Children must be enrolled with an adult for throwing and hand-building classes.

If you are interested in participating in a weekly class, but the class is full or there is a scheduling conflict, we only require 6 students to create a desired class time.

*There are currently opportunities for group outings or retreats. Either hand-building or throwing!
6 person minimum to create a class. Call or email to schedule.

Liability Waiver: All students, or a parent or guardian for those under the age of 18 must complete this liability waiver.

Regarding refunds: A pottery class is like any other event with specific dates. We are wiling to work with you to make up a lesson within the 6-week time frame of your class. We can not issue refunds for classes. Thank you for considering your schedule before signing up for a class.

Make-up Days and Cancelations: If you know you cannot make a scheduled class night, please call the studio so we can inform the instructor that you can’t make it and help you reschedule that class time. We highly encourage making up the scheduled class time rather than losing that class time, as this is a skill-driven class.

We typically have two options for make-up days:
1. You can swap to another class night within the same week. Example: if you can’t make your scheduled Thursday night, you could swap to Monday night for that week.
2. You can double down and do two classes in one week. Example: You’re out of town and can’t make any class for a whole week, the following week you could do Monday night along with your scheduled Thursday night.

Again, please call to confirm any rescheduling’s so we can make sure all instructors are aware of the adjustments. All rescheduling’s must be made within your selected 6-week time frame.
